Six lucky couples have said “I do” under the dazzling lights of Vivid Sydney, as the Pyrmont Registry opened its doors after hours for a limited series of exclusive evening ceremonies.
The event marked the NSW Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages’ debut collaboration with Vivid Sydney, since the iconic festival first lit up the city in 2009.
For two nights only on Friday 6 June and Saturday 7 June, couples had the rare opportunity to tie the knot against the vibrant backdrop of Sydney’s beloved festival of light, music and ideas, bringing the dream of a city wedding to life.
The Registry on Pirrama Road was transformed into a romantic landscape featuring unique lighting installations to coincide with festival’s 2025 theme, ‘Dream’.
Located in the heart of Sydney with sweeping harbour views, the Pyrmont Registry is quickly becoming a sought-after spot for couples seeking memorable yet accessible ways to wed.
Since opening in February 2024, the venue has hosted almost 4,000 weddings and continues to grow in popularity for its modern styling, iconic location and affordability.
In the last calendar year, Registry weddings have surged more than 30 per cent with 3,306 marriages officiated in 2024 compared to 2,500 in 2023.
As with all the Registry’s offerings, couples can personalise their ceremony with optional extras such as flowers and photography.
Vivid Sydney, the Southern Hemisphere’s leading multi-artform festival, runs from 23 May – 14 June 2025.
