Perth – The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community WA is proud to announce its 7th Annual Convention (Jalsa Salana Western Australia), set to take place this weekend on 7-8 September 2024 at Perth’s largest Mosque, Nasir Mosque in Bibra Lake.

This highly anticipated event organised by one of Perth’s most influential Muslim Community marks a significant moment for the community, not only celebrating its spiritual progress but also reflecting on 50 years since Ahmadi Muslims were constitutionally redefined as non-Muslims in Pakistan—a change that sparked decades of religious persecution not only in Pakistan but in several other countries including Bangladesh, Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Egypt and Algeria.

With roots in Perth dating back to 1893, the earliest member of Ahmadiyya Muslim Community has played a key role in shaping the city’s Muslim landscape. Hadhrat Hasan Musakhan Sahib, a pioneering figure, helped establish Perth’s first mosque and left a legacy of leadership. Despite facing global religious intolerance, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community has become one of Perth’s most progressive and socially active groups known for its unwavering dedication to humanitarian projects, community welfare initiatives, and interfaith dialogue.

At this year’s convention, the community will reflect on its long history of struggle and resilience. It is an opportunity for the media and the public to witness how one of the world’s most persecuted religious communities continues to embody the values of peace, service, and spiritual growth.
